Interesting that you mention singing too loud. I sing too soft, I do a lot of low notes and sound breathy with high notes.

I do classical, and spent a year focussing solely on the song Der Erlkönig, and my teacher taught me to sing desperately and fearfully in the last verse, where the young boy is being kidnapped and killed by the erlking, and to sound almost demonic when singing the last line of the Erlkonig's speech. Even in classical you sometimes need to not sound all fully composed and diciplined

I highly recommend people to listen to Lara Fabian sing « Malade », it’s easy to find with English subtitles… it illustrates what you said to perfection. It’s even possible to marry emotion and beauty in a performance. (But depending on the piece, imo the emotion and message, basically human connection/communication, is the priority)

Had to sing in a cockney accent once for a specific song. It sounded so much better to have some closed off notes and a jaunty attitude. It was fun.

Dear Lord! I know everyone progresses differently, but for me, smoothing out Passgio across my range is....helping to loosen and tie together my jaw/tongue...everything works together! Like singing, your instruction ALL TIES TOGETHER. Oh yes, and to all my guitar-playing playing friends-smoothing out Passagio helps your EAR, tremendously. Thank. You, Maestra! Thank you! That's still an issue for me at times, so I'll be checking out these playlists. A perfect example (IMHO) of polished singers from back in the day, who had (and still have) that resonance and vocal flexibility are Pat Benatar and Heart's Ann Wilson. ❤ I know it's the vocal training under my belt that makes me pay too much attention to the "proper-ness"😅 of my vocals. So it does limit my choices for performance. Looking forward to checking your vids out. Love, love, love ya Ms V!❤🎉
